Top 10 Vegan Restaurants LA

LA has some of the best vegan restaurants in the world. In fact one of the places on this list just might be our absolute favorite ever. What makes Los Angeles better than so many other great food towns is the variety and attention to detail.

The overall quality of the ingredients and care put into each dish at these restaurants is what makes them special. Here’s our list of the Top 10 Best Vegan Restaurants in LA.

1. crossroads kitchen

Crossroads Kitchen LA
Crossroads Kitchen had to be at the top of our list of the Best Vegan Restaurants in Los Angeles. It actually might be our favorite restaurant in the world and that’s not hyperbole. The first time we visited Crossroads we were absolutely amazed by the Carbonara. The perfectly cooked pasta was paired with a rich but, somehow, light creamy sauce. Every single thing we’ve ordered here has been a hit from the giant beans to the pizza to the pie. Make a reservation if you’re visiting LA and thank us later.

2. shojin

Be careful visiting Shojin, because it might just ruin your love of your current favorite, and probably cheaper, sushi restaurant. The food here is just that good. The flavors will blow you away and the unique dishes will definitely challenge your palate. Everything at Shojin is organic and super fresh. We also loved the ambiance and friendly service making for an unforgettable meal.

3. gracias madre

We first ate at Gracias Madre in San Francisco and just couldn’t believe the incredible flavors coming from dishes like Broccoli Tacos. They have 3 locations across LA and more delicious options than you can imagine. The prices can be a bit steep, but the portion sizes won’t disappoint. Gracias Madre also has some great non alcoholic drink options. Whatever you do, find a Gracias Madre somewhere in LA and be prepared to stuff yourself with top notch vegan Mexican food.

4. donut friend

Donut Friend LA
There’s no way we could have a Top Vegan Restaurants in LA list without Donut Friend. We are both huge pastry snobs, especially Josh, but you will not find a better donut anywhere. The important thing is that the actual donuts themselves are amazing. Then you add crazy delicious toppings/ideas and you have the perfect donut. Do not miss out when visiting Los Angeles, get to Donut Friend!

5. sage bistro

First off, Sage is a beautiful restaurant. It’s the kind of place we love to eat for a nice night out. It’s not too fancy, but you do feel like you’re on a date. But it’s the food that keeps us coming back. Sage is also a great place to take non vegans, because they have something for everybody. We love the bowls, pizzas, desserts and especially enjoy the more complex entrees like the Butternut Squash Ravioli. You could visit this place a dozen times and keep finding new favorite dishes.

6. little pine

Little Pine LA
All of the profits from Little Pine go to animal charities. For us that’s reason enough to check it out. But damn is the food good too! You can tell from your first bite that they’re using high quality ingredients and the chef knows what she is doing. We loved the Fennel Sausage Flatbread and Arancini, plus the S’mores Ganache dessert ended the meal perfectly. Go for the animals and go for yourself. Either way, Little Pine delivers the goods.

7. flore

Flore is the perfect restaurant in LA to grab a sandwich, tacos and a slice of cake. The menu is pretty simple with great prices and always friendly service. We really enjoyed the Chicken and Waffles and the Kale Benedict. The restaurant itself is small and quiet making for a great date night or laid back lunch. They’re currently looking for a new location and we hope they find it, because it would be a shame to lose this great place.

8. my vegan gold

My Vegan Gold offers a huge menu of interesting and delicious vegan dishes. They serve so many different foods like the Spicy Jackfruit, Green Curry, Tacos, Burgers and Pasta. Everything we’ve had has been top notch. Honestly, if you’re only able to go once on vacation, it’s super difficult to choose what to get. The good news is that the prices are great, so go nuts and order whatever catches your eye. We don’t think you’ll be disappointed with anything you order at My Vegan Gold.

9. stuff i eat

Stuff I Eat LA
This place is all about fresh ingredients and making healthy food taste great. It’s so good that we just had to include Stuff I Eat in our Best Vegan Restaurants in LA list. The Nacho Salad is a home run and the Organic Soul Food Platter is a feast of flavors. It’s loaded with Yams, Mac, BBQ Tofu, Kale, Black Eyed Peas, Cornbread, Potato Salad and Coleslaw for $15. If you’re seriously hungry, then head over to Stuff I Eat.

10. krimsey's modern cajun

Krimseys Modern Cajun LA
Vegan Jambalaya and Pecan Pralines for dessert? Yes please! Krimsey’s Modern Cajun has some of our favorite dishes like Southern Hush Puppies and Fried Green Tomatoes, and they’re doing it right. The flavors are spot on and there’s a huge variety to choose from. If you’re like us and these are the types of flavors you’re looking for, then you have to check out Krimsey’s Modern Cajun when you’re visiting Los Angeles.

So that’s it for our Top 10 BEST Vegan Restaurants in LA. If you’re visiting Los Angeles, definitely give these places a try and let us know what you think in the comments below.

Flight

Skyscanner is our go to site for finding the best flights based on prices, dates, times and flight length. It’s incredibly intuitive playing around with all of the airports and dates to find the best deal.

Accommodation

What would we do without Airbnb? Honestly, there are so many places we’ve been that just wouldn’t be affordable for us without Airbnb. In cities like San Francisco you’ll pay around half of what you’d pay for a comparable hotel. We can’t recommend Airbnb highly enough for your next trip.

There are a ton of great hotel/motel sites out there, but we almost always find ourselves booking our next hotel through Booking.com. The site is very user friendly and they often have more properties like small local motels than the bigger sites.

Travel Insurance

Whether you’re concerned about flight issues, medical emergencies or stolen luggage World Nomads has your back. We’ve used them for many of our trips and highly recommend their trip insurance for anyone looking for that extra level of protection. The rates are very affordable and you’ll know that you’re totally covered.
