The Spanish Influence
From the red-tile clay roofs scattered around town to the Old Mission and the County Courthouse, the Spanish influence is very easy to see throughout Santa Barbara. This really gives it a unique vibe and sets Santa Barbara apart from the other well-known cities along the California coast.
Santa Ynez Mountains
Part of the fun of visiting Santa Barbara is hiking in the Santa Ynez mountains. A friend of ours introduced us to Lizard Mouth rock which is a rock high up in the mountains that looks like, well, a lizard’s mouth. There’s a couple ways to get to the lizard and once you’re there, the scenery is utterly breathtaking! I imagine there are many more unbelievable views from various spots in the mountains and we look forward to getting back to explore them for ourselves.
