Explore the Esplanade
In downtown Townsville, there’s a really lovely esplanade along the water called The Strand. This walkway is just over 1.5 miles long and has some pretty cool attractions along the way including a waterpark, playgrounds, picnic areas, workout stations and cafes. It’s the perfect spot to walk, run, bike or skate while enjoying the cool breezes coming off the ocean.
Castle Hill View
When driving into Townsville, be sure to check out the view at Castle Hill. A quick but twisty drive up Castle Hill rewards you with a great view of Townsville, Magnetic Island and the Coral Sea below. There are multiple lookouts with different vantage points so you can experience 360 degrees of fabulous views.
