A Great Day Trip
The Blue Mountains are just outside of Sydney and make a perfect day trip from the city. There are numerous waterfalls and scenic lookouts to enjoy. If you’re feeling really adventurous, you can spend some time at Scenic World and ride a cable car from one peak to another. Check out the charming towns of Leura and Katoomba where you can grab some food and explore the towns’ streets and shops.
What A Lookout!
We’ve seen a lot of incredible lookout points in our travels but, in the Blue Mountains, we came across a lookout that really stood out to us. Pulpit Rock Lookout is a little off the beaten path but completely worth the effort. A small hike through the forest brings you out into a clearing right at the edge of the mountain. There are these amazing mallee trees all around that are really cool looking. You can cross a bridge over to Pulpit Rock which is terrifying! At least it was for us. We crossed the bridge but I couldn’t bring myself to walk to the lowest level. But the views are just incredible in every direction.
