Budapest

A River Runs Through
The famous Danube River winds between the two historical cities of Buda and Pest to make up the larger area now known as Budapest after being joined by bridges. It’s quite easy to see the topographical distinction between the two sides of the river with Buda being very hilly and Pest being quite flat in comparison. Also, Buda is considerably quieter and more residential while Pest is more touristy and bustling. We enjoyed exploring both sides and walking along the Danube with great views of the opposite city across the water.
A Beautiful Bastion
While there are endless amazing buildings to see in Budapest from castles, churches and the beautiful Parliament building, our favorite place to explore was the Fisherman’s Bastion in the Buda Castle. With its tall bastion towers and gorgeous terraces overlooking the Danube, this incredible structure is truly a must-see. Overall, the weather was pretty gloomy while we were in Budapest and we still had the best time. We feel that if a city shines even on a rainy day, it must be a pretty incredible city!
