BAR HARBOR
Neverland in New England
Bar Harbor is a quaint harbor village on Mount Desert Island. We first visited this picturesque mountain town as part of a larger trip to New England and Bar Harbor won us over with ease. We loved exploring the downtown area and popping in and out of the shops. We also had a lovely boat tour around Frenchman’s Bay seeing such highlights as the Porcupine Islands up close and views of the magnificent “cottages” that were built for the wealthiest families who vacation in the area.
A Hiker's Paradise
What we love the most is hiking the trails of Acadia National Park and seeing the stunning views from the rocky cliffs and mountains which overlook the bay. We’ve been back several times since our first visit and each time was better than the last. This is a place that really grows on you and gets under your skin. Give it a try for yourself and let it grow on you.
